Who Decides When You Die?
Has the word “bioethics” become an oxymoron in 21st century America? It seems that the recommendations coming from the field of bioethics these days, such as “rational” suicide, right to die, embryonic stem cell research (aka human cloning), killing by dehydration, and euthanizing infants, are anything but ethical. A better description of them might include words like practical, cost-effective, and convenient.

Yes, the foundations have shifted while we were asleep. Many bioethicists now view the very young, very old, and severely disabled as “nonpersons” whose lives have no value. Not Wesley J. Smith. Come hear Smith, attorney, author, and one of the nation’s top thinkers in bioethics, clear up the confusion surrounding these life-and-death issues and explain how the seismic shift away from the Christian understanding of the sanctity of life may one day put us all in peril.
